This, responding to the question of ArmInfo, was informed by Zabirzoda Nekrui Hanjar, General Director of the "Tadzhinvest", on June 14 on the margins of the first Armenian-Tajik business forum taking place in Yerevan.
According to Zabrizoda, within the forum, a rather representative delegation representing all sectors of the Tajik economy arrived in Armenia. "For us, priority projects in the field of cooperation with the Armenian side are projects in the fields of hydropower and mining," he said.
In addition, as noted by Nekrui Zabirzoda, the Tajik side hopes to develop cooperation with Armenia in the country's tourism sphere. "Today in Tajikistan the tourist infrastructure is developing very intensively and the hotel business is becoming more active, I would like Armenian partners to take part in these projects," the representative of the Tajik delegation said.
Tajik business is interested in cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals. Today, as the director of "Tajinvest" noted, despite the presence of more than 4 thousand names of herbs in the country, Tajikistan imports 97% of pharmaceuticals. "We want to use the experience of Armenian entrepreneurs and create joint ventures for the production of medicines," Zabirzoda said.
About 100 Armenian and 36 Tajik companies participated in the Armenian-Tajik business forum. On June 13, the Third meeting of the intergovernmental economic cooperation started. The agenda of the events includes discussion of prospects for cooperation in the fields of engineering, energy, agriculture, health, science and education, culture, transport and communications.
To note, according to the statistical data for 2015, which was shared by the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment, the foreign trade turnover of Armenia and Tajikistan was fixed at $ 390,000. The export from Armenia amounted to $ 387,000, and from Tajikistan to Armenia - $ 4,000. Armenia exported mainly medicines used in veterinary medicine and jewelry to Tajikistan.
