Yerevan expects the participation of the European Investment Bank in the program of modernization of four electric substations on the balance of CJSC "Electric Networks of Armenia", Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Manukyan stated on June 28 during his meeting with the EIB delegation headed by the leading credit specialist Violin Silvestro.
Following his words quoted by the press service of the department, up to date, 16 substations have been reconstructed. 10. Due to the savings, it is planned to modernize 2 more electric substations. "Having solved the problem of four more substations, the entire program will be completed, which is necessary for the development of regional cooperation in order to ensure transit of electricity," the Armenian minister said.
In addition, by presenting the construction projects for the Shnokh HPP, as well as for the garbage-powered power station, Ashot Manukyan stressed their importance both in terms of ensuring the security of the energy complex, and developing the economy and solving social issues. Expressing gratitude for the presentation of the projects, Violin Silvestro said the EIB was interested in implementing projects in the energy sector.
