Citizens of Yerevan and guests of Armenian capital got a chance to charge their mobile  phones directly at public transport stops

ArmInfo. On July  7, within the framework of the events Energy Efficiency Days of the European Union in Armenia, the opening ceremony of the first public stops powered by solar energy was held. The event was attended by the head of the EU delegation to Armenia Piots Switalski.

Solar panels at two stops were installed on the initiative of EU delegation to promote renewable energy.  The stops are located in streets of Moskovyan and Baghramyan in the capital , where for the residents of Yerevan and guests can  charge cell phones and other digital devices for free. Each stop is able to fully charge 24 phones during the day. To charge one phone you need 5 watts of electricity. The charging time depends on the modification and technical data of the phone and other digital devices. "Days of energy efficiency of the European Union in Armenia" are held in the republic from 3 to 7 July. The purpose of the event is to apply the best European experience in the field of energy efficiency, to assist in the development of renewable energy.
