The construction of the third system solar station has already commenced to 1 MW, according to the press service of Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia. According to the source, in the near future several more solar stations will be added to the three solar stations under construction. Recently, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) granted a license for generating electricity to solar generation facilities to 7 companies - Solar Production, Rep Chur, Rapid Interactive System, International Masis Tabak, Sol Energy, "," Inter ". The stations will be built in Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Gegharkunik and Ararat regions. The licenses for these companies are valid until 2038. All seven stations should be put into operation within the next year.
In total, the PSRC granted 11 licenses for the construction of solar stations with a capacity of up to 1 MW. According to preliminary data, $ 1 million will be spent on the construction of one such station. With the use of these generation facilities, the first stage of the program will be completed. After summing up the results of the work, the possibilities of building new solar stations in the second stage will be evaluated. Recall that at the first stage it is planned to build solar stations with a total installed capacity of 10 MW.
Earlier, the Climate Investment Fund for the development of alternative energy provided Armenia $ 28 million, of which $ 2 million - a grant and $ 26 million - a loan. The terms of the loan are soft - 0.25% per annum with a maturity of 40 years and a grace period for payments in the first 20 years. Grant funds are being used to study the localities, develop a feasibility study for the project, calculated at a station of 100- 120 megawatts of capacity.
