ArmInfo. The Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, Suren Karayan, the day before received a delegation led by US Deputy Trade Representative in Europe and the Middle East Daniel Mullan.
According to the press service of the Ministry, Suren Karayan noted the untapped potential of trade and economic relations between the countries, as well as the desire of the Armenian government to intensify ties. "Armenia is interested in US investments, and is ready for the major investment projects to discuss the creation of more favorable regimes," he said.
The Minister also expressed readiness within the framework of the Armenian-American agreement on trade and investment (TIFA) to hold active discussions on issues of interest to American business and providing more comfortable conditions for entering the local market.
Dan Mullan, in turn, noted that the American side attaches special importance to economic relations with Armenia. According to him, the purpose of the delegation's visit is to discuss ways to expand mutual trade and investment within the framework of the agreement on trade and investment. The parties discussed issues related to the work carried out within the framework of the Agreement, in particular, in the direction of trade and investment, sanitation and phytosanitary, customs regulations, intellectual property rights, in the field of ecology and public procurement, and removing technical barriers to trade.
The two sides accentuated the importance of close cooperation of business ties between the countries.
