The new head of the Social Security Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia: the system must be fair and honest

ArmInfo. Head of the Social Security Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Hovhannes Sahakyan supports the adequate determination of the amount of pensions and benefits.

In an interview with the radio station "Azatutyun", referring to the situation in the sphere of social security, Hovhannes Sahakyan called to forget about the former practice, when "figures were drawn" and to exclude such a thing from now on.

According to the newly appointed head of the Social Security Service, it is necessary to achieve justice in the system of allocating pensions and benefits. "If a citizen is to receive benefits, then he must be paid a pension, if he is to be given a pension, the amount of pension must be determined according to the length of service, and taking into account the degree of disability of the citizen, to which the basic pension is added.  Honest," he said.

The head of the Social Security Service assured that serious reforms are expected in the field, aimed at breaking stereotypes in relation to the department. As Sahakian admitted, much remains to be done and he agreed to this post with the knowledge that the work will not be easy. Hovhannes Sahakyan promised that after some time he will present a report to the public about the work he has done.
