ArmInfo. Today, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, according to Kazakhstan media sources. During the meeting, prospects for further development of trade and economic relations, in particular, new forms of cooperation, including trade in services and new technologies were discussed.
In this context, the productive work of Kazakh-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was noted. The issues of development of transit-technical potential, interaction within the framework of international organizations and strengthening of integration processes in the EEU were also raised. In addition, the parties discussed the progress of the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana and the August 16 National Day of Armenia.
To note, this year the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Armenia marks 25th anniversary. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia in January-May 2017 amounted to $ 1.7 million, which is 77.6% more than in 2016. As of July 2017, 258 legal entities, branches and representative offices with Armenian participation were registered in Kazakhstan, of which 166.
