The CEO of the Development Foundation of Armenia Armen Avak Avakian delivered a presentation on Armenia's Investment opportunities at the roundtable discussion of American business leaders in Los Angeles, USA. A number of investment projects were discussed with the leaders of American medium and large businesses.
According to Armenian DFA press service, the heads of the Chambers of Commerce of Los Angeles and Orange regions and the cities of Los Angeles and Glendale, as well as the members of business consulting institutions and executives of American medium and large enterprises attended the Investment event, organized by the initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles.
The CEO of the Foundation presented the Armenia's readiness to become an important platform between the markets of Iran and the EAEU with 450 billion and 3 trillion GDPs respectively.
"The working style of DFA entails not only preparing projects and presenting them to the investors, but also providing aftercare support to effectively finalize the projects", added the head of the DFA during his "Select Armenia" presentation. The video "Nation of Innovation", illustrating the Armenia's achievements and opportunities of IT sector, was also presented.
The event was held by the initiative of General Consulate in Los Angeles. It was attended by the heads of the CCI of the counties of Los Angeles and Orange, as well as the cities of Los Angeles and Glendale, representatives of consulting structures and company executives.
To note, as of April 1, 2017 accumulated gross investment in Armenia from the US amounted to 211.1 billion drams or $ 436.6 million with an annual growth of 13%. In particular, FDI amounted to 122.6 billion drams or $ 253.6 million, with annual growth of 11%. Taking into account repayments, gross investments amounted to over 99 billion drams or $ 204.8 million with annual growth of 4%, including FDI 80.5 billion drams or $ 166.5 million with an annual decline of 4%.
