ArmInfo. Penalties for less significant tax offenses committed for the first time will be replaced with a warning, corresponding instruction was announced by the Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan on August 24 at a Government meeting.
According to Cabinet of Ministers head, during the meetings with representatives of small and medium- sized businesses, the most common administrative violations of the tax sphere were identified. These offenses relate to cases of failure to submit or untimely submission of the required documentation to the tax authority. Such violations, as noted by the prime minister, lead to a penalty - fines. The minimum and maximum penalties in the law are not established and given to the discretion of the authorized body, he said.
At the same time, according to Karen Karapetyan, the primacy of committing a less significant administrative violation can be considered as a basis for replacing the fine for a warning. Taking into account the above, the head of the government instructed the Minister of Economic Development and Investments and the head of the State Revenue Committee to study and submit proposals to the government staff in a month's time to replace penalties for less significant tax violations with a warning, and to specify the amount of sanctions imposed.
