ArmInfo. In the first half of 2017, 15.4 thousand were imported to Armenia. Passenger cars, which is higher than the indicator of a year ago by 49.4%. The customs value of imported cars has grown by 14.7% to $ 59.3 million in the year by year. This is evidenced by the data of the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia.
At the same time, the reverse dynamics is observed in the export of cars - a decline of 61.6% per annum - up to 198 pcs. In value terms, exports of cars fell by 23.1% per annum - to $ 2.4 million.
According to the report of the RA Customs Service, cars were imported to Armenia mainly from Japan (36.4%), Germany (30%), Russia (15.6%), USA (11%), as well as from Mexico, France, Great Britain, and Georgia. The cars were exported mainly to Russia (59.6%) and Georgia (19.7%), as well as to Germany (5%) and the USA (3.5%).
By way of comparison, in the first half of 2016 Armenia reduced import of passenger cars by 41% per annum - up to 6.8 thousand units. In terms of value, the import of passenger cars declined by 48.3% per annum to $ 33.4 million in the reporting period. The same dynamics was observed for exports, in particular, in the first half of 2016 only 40 cars were transported from Armenia with an annual decline of 32.2% . The customs value of exported cars fell by 15% to $ 1 million.
