ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetian received on October 6 the head of the Department for Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow, Sergei Cheremin. The parties discussed the current level of relations and the issues of their further development. As the press service of the Armenian government told ArmInfo, Sergei Cheremin noted that in the first half of 2017, Armenian imports to the Russian capital increased by 40%. In this regard, as Cheremin pointed out, Armenia is ahead of other countries. He presented to the Armenian Prime Minister the ways of Moscow's development and the investment programs implemented in the capital.
Karen Karapetian noted the importance of maintaining effective cooperation, as well as the implementation of concrete steps towards increasing the volume of trade. The prime minister touched upon the reforms carried out by the government in Armenia, presented the investment potential of the republic.
There was also an exchange of views on the reform of the sphere of urban development and management.
The foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Russia grew by 23.5% per annum in January-August 2017 - to $ 991.8 million. This was caused by an increase in exports by 36.6% to $ 310 million and imports by 18.3% to $ 681.8 million.
