ArmInfo. The cost of stenting in Armenia can be reduced by 30-40%, Armenian Minister of Health Levon Altunyan stated at a press conference on October 6.

According to him, the Ministry of Health of Armenia, the relevant negotiations are already nearing its end.  As the minister explained, it will become possible if there are a number of conditions. "In particular, with the introduction of the practice of 5-year depreciation of the installation of high fixed salaries for staff and provision of five stenting operations for each hospital, the prices for the operation can be reduced by 40% daily," Altunyan said. It should be noted that in Armenia, as in the world as a whole, cardiovascular diseases are leading in terms of mortality. The price for the installation of a stent with a non-drug coating in Armenia ranges from 1 million 200 thousand (2500 USD) to 850 thousand (1790 USD), and a stent with a drug coating - from 1 million 700 thousand (3580 USD) to 1 million 100 thousand (2315 USD). On January 1, 2015, Armenia has a state program, under which state orders for urgent stenting of the heart vessels after a heart attack are carried out.
