Armenian insurance companies refunded 11.98 billion drams for the 9 months of 2017 or $ 25.1 million for the various classes (figures are presented from the reports of the portfolios of the CB according to the standards of the Central Bank of Armenia). On an annual basis, insurers' reimbursements increased by 19.3%, against growth of 4.8% a year earlier. At the same time, the Armenian insurance premiums recorded an annual growth of 3.8% - up to 24.6 billion AMD or $ 51.3 million, against growth of 0.3% a year earlier. According to the Ranking of Insurance Companies of Armenia, prepared by IA ArmInfo, five companies provided annual growth of payments, the largest in RESO insurance companies - by 61.8% and Nairi Insurance - by 52.4%, and the only annual decline was fixed from Rosgosstrakh Armenia Insurance Company - by 0.6%.
In terms of insurance classes, the largest annual increase in payments was recorded in cargo transportation insurance - 2.4 times, property from fires and natural disasters - by 77.8%, total liability - by 67.6%, property from other damages - by 53, 5%, and for OSAGO - last year's minus trend in 1.5% improved to the current positive 33.3%, with a similar but more modest change in the trend for CASCO - from negative 3.8% to positive 3.2%. The upward trend was also recorded in the insurance of those traveling abroad - by 27.6%. For other classes of insurance, the annual trend of compensation in the recession: financial damage - by 42.5%, from accidents - by 26.8%, responsibility from the use of land transport - by 23.6%, health - by 0.4%. By way of comparison, we note that following the results of 9 months of 2016, the following classes of insurance demonstrated annual growth: financial damage - 6.7 times, cargo transportation - 2.6 times, liability from land transportation - 99.2%, property from fires and natural disasters - 89.8% of health - by 14.1%. In the recession, insurance went abroad - 11.8%, from accidents - 27.2%, total responsibility - 73.9%, property from other damages - 95.7%.
In general, there were no payments during the reporting period for insurance of credit risks (licensed only by Rosgosstrakh-Armenia), on aviation insurance and liability for its use (licensed by INGO Armenia, Rosgosstrakh-Armenia and Nairi Insurance), water transport and liability of its use (licensed only by INGO Armenia ) and provided guarantees (licensed by INGO Armenia and Rosgosstrakh-Armenia).
The largest volume of insurance payments is traditionally provided by Rosgosstrakh-Armenia Insurance Company - 3.6 billion AMD (ranking first in terms of premiums). The second place is occupied by IC "INGO Armenia" with a volume of compensation of 2.8 billion. TOP-3 closes SC "Nairi Insurance" with a payout of 2.04 billion. Close to them is SC "Sil Insurance" with an indicator of 1.6 billion. SC RESO occupies the fifth position with the indicator of 1.3 billion drams. And Insurance Armenia IC closes the list of insurance companies with a payout volume of 676.1 million drams. The largest share of payments in the structure of reimbursements has traditionally occurred in compulsory motor third party liability insurance (OSAGO) - 66.82% or 8 billion drams, against 59.82% a year earlier. The share of medical insurance accounted for 21.32% of total insurance payments or 2.6 billion AMD, compared to 25.54% a year earlier. On the CASCO segment, the amount of insurance payments reached 812.9 million AMD or 6.78% in total insurance reimbursements, against 7.85% a year earlier. The share of financial loss insurance accounted for 2.01% or 241.2 million drams, against 4.18% a year earlier. For the other classes, payments range from 7.3 to 132 million drams, with a minimum for general liability insurance (0.06% of total payments, compared to 0.04% a year earlier) and property insurance maximum (1.1%, vs. 0,74% a year earlier).
Over the first 9 months of 2017, Armenia's insurance companies recorded a total of about 132 thousand insurance cases, of which the bulk was in health insurance - about 87 thousand cases. Under the OSAGO, insurers recorded over 42 thousand insured events. The insurance of land transport (CASCO) by the number of cases ranks third - 1.4 thousand cases. In the Armenian insurance market, there are two compulsory types of insurance: compulsory motor third party liability insurance and health insurance for state employees.
Insurance companies of Armenia from the available 19 classes provide 17 classes of insurance, except for railway transport insurance and insurance of judicial and extrajudicial expenses.
