ArmInfo. Head of the State Committee for Tourism of Armenia Zarmine Zeituntsyan received a delegation headed by the Ambassador of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacote on 9 November. The parties discussed issues of tourism development. According to the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Zarmine Zeituntsyan presented in detail the activities of the Committee, as well as steps aimed at increasing Armenia's recognition.
Ambassador Jonathan Lacote, in turn, touched upon the issues of strengthening cooperation between Armenia and France. He noted the important role of tourism in the development of the economy of Armenia. According to him, tourism in Armenia offers what French tourists are looking for. As the head of the diplomatic mission indicated, a tourist from France is interested in religious, adventure and historical and cultural tourism. In addition, the French tourist can also be interested in Armenian cuisine and local wines.
The parties discussed the issue of disseminating information in French, as well as organizing a fact-finding visit of journalists and bloggers from France to Armenia.
It should be noted that in January-September 207, the number of visitors from France to Armenia was 18,191 people, registering an increase of 17.7%.
