Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan visited the office of Optym, a company operating in Armenia, specializing in the development of optimization algorithms and decision-making systems in transport networks. As the press service of the executive body reports, the prime minister went around the company's divisions, got acquainted with their activities, created working conditions, implemented programs and development prospects.
Representatives of "Optim" noted that the company cooperates effectively with the leading organizations of cargo transportation, rail, air and bus services. According to them, intelligent software solutions allow transport companies to minimize costs, increase profitability and improve the quality of services. "Optim" representatives informed that in the near future they plan to conduct various training courses in Armenian higher educational institutions developing professional skills, aiming to develop the spheres of operational research, optimization theories and decision making automation.
Karen Karapetyan welcomed the active work of "Optim" in our country and on behalf of the Government expressed readiness for cooperation. The head of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers proposed to work together in the issue of forming an effective logistics scheme of the transport network throughout the territory of the Republic of Armenia and developing a decision-making system. The company management thanked the prime minister for the trust and expressed readiness for cooperation. An agreement was reached with the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of the Republic of Armenia to begin work on the development of a technical task in the near future. The company "Optim" was founded in 2000 in the USA, Florida, and specializes in creating solutions for automation and optimization of the transport industry. "Optim" operates through four offices operating in the United States of America, Armenia, India and Australia. In Armenia, it started its activity since 2007.
According to the press service of the government, the expansion of activities in the Unified Energy System and the EU will allow the office of "Optim-Armenia", which is the second major office of the company in the world, to become a regional center, to attract foreign clients and provide services. The staff consists of highly qualified 80 specialists: architects of technical systems, designers, programmers, designers and database developers and quality assurance specialists. Currently, as a result of investing 1,000,000 US dollars, the company's office space has been expanded and 140 highly skilled specialists have been able to provide jobs.
