ArmInfo. Armenia needs to increase its economic growth rates so that young people see their future in this country. This was stated by the head of the EU delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalsky on December 15 on the margins of the 2nd European Business Association (EBA) summit.
According to the diplomat, EBA reached a lot in the context of improving the business environment in Armenia following the results of the two-year activity, and ways were proposed for its further improvement. The European delegation in Armenia, as the ambassador said, considers it necessary to support the activities of the EBA.
At the same time, the head of the EU delegation in Armenia notes the efforts of the Armenian government towards ensuring economic growth, including the creation of comfortable business conditions. "Armenia needs to increase the rate of economic growth, so that young people see their future in this country, they felt the potential for achieving the set goal," Switalsky said. According to him, this is not a one-day issue, but the government's actions are encouraging, the European partners, in turn, will continue their assistance to the Government.
The European Business Association, as Garegin Galustov, head of EBA business development, said in a conversation with journalists, is consistently studying the business field in order to identify existing obstacles to the development of the business environment. In the near future, the Association is going to publish the results of its studies, which will record trends that have emerged in the last year. "The main focus of the document will be on the tasks raised by business representatives," he said, adding that these tasks are mainly related to the tax and customs and judicial areas, as well as the need to establish fair competition and improve the system of public procurement. "Having established a constructive dialogue with business, we set a goal to ensure public-private cooperation," he said.
The European Business Association in Armenia was established in October 2015 with the assistance of the EU Delegation to Armenia. The EBA's goal is to assist the European business community in Armenia, to facilitate the integration of European business, to promote cooperation between Armenia and the EU, and to develop the business environment in the country, to improve the relevant legislative field and to stimulate foreign investment in Armenia.
