ArmInfo. The enlargement of communities will lead to an intensification of emigration processes and the "aging" of communities. Answering the question, ArmInfo, Sargis Sedrakyan, chairman of the "Farmer Movement", stated during a press conference on February 12. According to the expert, enlargement does not solve any problems, but creates new ones on the contrary.
"There are no young people in the villages, villages are gradually being emptied, there remains an incapacitated population - mostly old people. Everything goes to the fact that soon from the villages there will remain only the names of settlements that only remind of the once existing communities here, "he said. According to Sedrakyan, the villagers are afraid to oppose the state program on the consolidation of the communities. "We have no other choice," Sedrakyan quotes farmers as saying.
The most expedient, according to the expert, is the creation of areas, as it was in the Soviet era, he said. In particular, Sedrakyan noted that the program of consolidation of communities was approved, despite numerous discussions and criticism from experts and representatives of various structures.
