ArmInfo. "The government of Armenia has achieved certain successes this year, which created the basis for further long-term development of the country. I am sure of that," the acting premier Karen Karapetyan assured from the rostrum of the National Assembly.
According to him, if there is no force majeure in 2018, the government will overfulfill the projected economic growth of 4.5%. Karapetyan also stressed that the government had a reason for satisfying its own activities this year, because the fixed economic growth of 7.5% is the highest in the region and the EAEU. For the current year, he said, 5,700 new jobs were opened. At the same time, the prime minister did not say how many jobs were closed within the so-called "optimization" framework. "I am sure that, if this trend continues, the average citizen will feel the changes in terms of improving living standards and opening new jobs," he said.
According to him, only in the first two months of 2018, economic growth amounted to 8.6%, and this despite the temporary standstill of the Teghut deposit, which plays a big role in the country's economy. Karapetyan also assured that the government has developed 20-30 very ambitious, but realistic programs aimed at improving and revitalizing all spheres of state activity. "I am sure that when they are presented, citizens will be satisfied," he said.
At the same time, addressing the critics who criticize him, Karapetyan called upon them to ask themselves whether it is possible to solve all the problems for the year.
