ArmInfo. The Armenian parliament ratified the protocol to the Armenian-Belarusian agreement on international road service at the September 11 meeting.
According to Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Armen Pambukhchyan, the protocol was signed on June 29, 2017 and is an appendix to the main agreement signed on September 20, 1997. The document comes into force on the next day after the official publication. The proposed legal act provides for the regulation of interstate passenger transportations and the application of new mechanisms for the implementation of freight traffic. The need for amendments is conditioned by Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union. Earlier, the agreement provided for the use of an exchange of permits for the carriage of goods by road. With the entry of the country into the EEU, the need for permits has disappeared in cases when the transportation is carried out between two countries or between the countries of the Union, transit transportations in the EEU countries, to third countries by transit exclusively through the territory of the EEU countries.
