ArmInfo. The Armenian Motor Insurers' Bureau warns car owners that from now on, the Road Police will be notified when an accident is registered in accordance with the European Accident Statement about the side of the accident that does not have Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (CMTPL) .
ArmInfo was told in the press service of the Bureau of Motor Insurers of Armenia (hereinafter Bureau) that, in relation to the driver of a motor vehicle that does not have an CMTPL contract, an administrative proceeding will be carried out with an appropriate responsibility in case of an insurance event registered in accordance with the European Accident Statement.
It should be noted that the system of registration of insurance cases in accordance with the European Accident Statement with the threshold of damage up to 50 thousand drams, which later in September of the same year increased to 100 thousand drams, was introduced in the market of CMTPL of Armenia from March 4, 2016. This process involves an easy and quick mechanism for obtaining reimbursement from the insurance company.
Along with this, the Bureau has updated the order of contractual relations with expert organizations, in particular, shortened the period of re-examination to 3 working days, and reduced the fee for it to 5000 drams. The re-examination is aimed at protecting the rights of victims in the CMTPL case, and is provided for those cases when the victims do not agree with the assessment of the degree of guilt and / or the amount of damage caused by the road accident received from the insurance company. From this moment on, the drivers in the road accident, the damage from which does not exceed 100,000 AMD, without the call of an insurance officer and a representative of the Traffic Police, fill in the agreed declaration themselves, attach photos to it from the scene of the accident and send the package to the relevant insurance company. The form of this declaration and the procedure for its completion, as well as the instructions for follow-up actions are posted on the official website of the Bureau under the link: http://paap.am/index.php?al=agreed_declaration.
