According to the RA Statistics Committee, in January-September 2018. TPPs increased electricity generation by 22.3% per annum - up to 2,509.7 million kWh, hydroelectric power plants - by 0.3% - up to 1,828 million kWh. At the same time, the Armenian NPP reduced electricity generation by 23.3% - to 1 433.4 million kWh. During the reporting period, 26.8 thousand gigadjoules of thermal energy were produced, with an annual growth of 30.7%. Wind power plants produced 1.1 million kWh of electricity in the reporting period, which is 15.4% less than a year ago. The volume of electricity produced by solar power plants for the reporting period amounted to 3.8 million kWh.
To recall electricity generation in Armenia in 2017 amounted to 7 762.9 million kWh, with an annual growth of 6.1%. In particular, the production of electricity was increased by thermal power plants and the Armenian NPP - by 11.2% and 10%, respectively, and hydropower plants were reduced by 3.5%.
