ArmInfo. At the meeting of the general meeting of shareholders of CJSC MetsamorEnergoAtom, Armenia will speak in favor of liquidating the company. The decision was taken at the November 29 meeting of the RA government.
According to the certificate of the draft decision, the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia, Garegin Baghramian, was entrusted behalf of the Republic of Armenia, which owns 50% of the company's shares (50,000 ordinary shares) at a general meeting to vote for the liquidation of the company. In the event that shareholders make a decision on liquidation, it is proposed to include one representative each from the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of RA, Ministry of Finance of RA, Ministry of Justice of RA, State Revenue Committee, Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of RA. Two representatives in the liquidation commission will be from the State Property Management Committee and one representative from CJSC MetsamorEnergoAtom.
CJSC MetsamorEnergoAtom was established in 2010 as a customer for the construction of a new nuclear power unit in Armenia. The company's founders are the government of Armenia represented by the Ministry of Energy and the Russian CJSC, Atomstroyexport, which is part of the Rosatom Group of Companies. Earlier, the RA government made a decision to reduce the authorized capital of the company from 60 million drams to 32 million drams. Due to the delay in the decision to build a new nuclear unit, the company did not conduct business and did not receive any proceeds from the sale of products. Today, the RA government is more inclined to extend the service life of the second power unit of the Armenian NPP until 2040 than to the issue of building a new unit.
