According to the press service of the ministry, the total cost of the program is $ 8 million."The program includes consultations aimed at changing the legal framework and by-laws. That is, provisions, regulations, licenses and contracts will be developed that will help implement the new market model. And here the correct application of international experience is very important, "the minister said. Baghramian stressed the importance of introducing mechanisms of responsibility in the common chain of producers, suppliers and consumers of electricity, which is a new tool in the energy system of Armenia.
In turn, Birman noted that the program will assist in the issue of market liberalization and the achievement of energy independence, diversification of energy sources in Armenia. We pursue one goal - to increase the investment attractiveness of the energy sector of Armenia, the level of transparency of the sphere, its accountability and competitiveness. Working together, we can help Armenia to strengthen ties with neighboring Georgia and the EU, "he said.According to the report, within the framework of the MLET program, the government of Armenia is expected to support, in particular, issues regarding revision of the energy strategy and development of a long-term program for the development of the energy sector of Armenia.
