ArmInfo. In Armenia, the services sector increased its volume in January-November 2018 by 18.4% per annum (against 14.2% growth a year earlier), exceeding 1.5 trillion drams ($ 3.2 billion). And in November alone, a decline of 7.6% was recorded - to 156.5 billion drams ($ 321.8 million).
According to the RA Statistical Committee, the y-o-y increase in indicators is due to the acceleration of the dynamics of the volume of services provided by the public catering sector - from 19.7% to 31.7%, culture, entertainment and recreation - from 22.7% to 34%, health care - from 17.2% up to 27.1%, real estate transactions- from 7.7% to 10.3%, administrative and support activities - from 11.2% to 17.7%, professional, technical and scientific activities - from 1.8% to 15.9%.
In terms of the volume of services provided, culture, entertainment and recreation are leading - 350.7 billion drams (22.2% of the total). The second place in terms of services is occupied by the financial sector - 330 billion drams (20.8% of the total). The third place is occupied by the field of information and communication -219.8 billion drams (13.9% of the total volume). Transport sector is the 4th - 201.1 billion drams (12.7% of the total volume).
Catering and tourism closes the top five in terms of services rendered - 136.6 billion drams (8.6% of the total). The average exchange rate of dram to the US dollar in November 2018 was 486.33 AMD/$ 1, and in January-November - 482.83 dr./$ 1, against 485.36 dr./$ 1 in November 2017 and 482.67.AMD/$ 1 in January-November 2017
