ArmInfo. In 2018, the production of aluminum foil in Armenia decreased by 14.5% to 28,359 tons, against 14.4% growth in 2017.
According to the RA Statistical Committee of Armenia, in December the production of aluminum foil decreased by 17.9% to 1 645 tons.
To recall in 2017 compared to 2016, the production of aluminum foil increased by 14.4% - to 33,181 tons, against a 2.1% decline in 2016. The output of aluminum rolled products in 2017 increased several times - to 543 tons against 5.6 tons in 2016.
According to the RA Customs Service, in the first half of 2018, Armenia exported 16.7 thousand tons of aluminum foil with an y-o-y growth of 4.4% (against last year's 6.5% growth). In monetary terms, the export of foil increased by 16.1% per annum - up to $ 54.8 million. Mostly foil was exported to the USA (38.2%) and Germany (37%), as well as to the Netherlands (8.7%), Poland (5.6%), Canada (5.1%), Austria (4, 4%), Great Britain (1.8%), and to a lesser extent to France, Italy, the Czech Republic, and the Russian Federation. At the same time, Armenia sharply increased the volume of imported foil - by 4.1 times - to 2.1 thousand tons, against a decline of 16.6% a year earlier. The customs value of imported foil increased 3.6 fold to $ 7.5 million. Foil was imported from the USA (56%), Greece (36%), Russia (5.6%), China (1.4%), Ukraine (0, 2%), as well as from Poland and Lebanon.
