ArmInfo. In 2018, almost half or 47.78% of the computers of Armenian users were subjected to attempts to infect with local threats against 43.92% in 2017. In Azerbaijan, more than half or 50.08% of users' computers underwent such local attacks in 2018, while their share a year earlier was 46.97%, and in Georgia these figures were 34.01% and 31.77%, respectively.
This is evidenced by data from Kaspersky Lab.In 2018, at least one malicious program was detected on average by 35.06% of computers, hard drives or removable media, and in 2017 - by 36.8%.Local threats are objects that infiltrated a computer by infecting files or removable media (flash drives, memory cards of cameras and phones, external hard drives), or were not originally in the open form (for example, programs as part of complex installers, encrypted files, etc.). .d.) In addition, these statistics include objects detected on users' computers after the first system scan using an antivirus program.
Experts note that despite the availability of cloud services and the ability to work together in them, users continue to actively use removable media. In order to protect themselves against local threats, users should, if possible, refuse to work with removable media, and if this becomes necessary, they and the downloadable installers (and any other files and archives) should always be checked with a reliable antivirus. It is also necessary to disable the autoloading of files from removable media on the computer.
