ArmInfo.Iranian President Hassan Rouhani declared Tehran's readiness to export information and communication technologies (ICT) to Yerevan. As reported by the IRNA news agency, he stated this on February 27 at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Tehran.
Hassan Rouhani pointed out the existence of good and close relations between the two countries since the restoration of independence of Armenia. The Iranian president expressed hope for a greater number of agreements during the rule of the new administration of Armenia. Rouhani expressed satisfaction with Armenia's position on illegal sanctions, stating that Tehran and Yerevan resolutely continue their relations in accordance with the national interests of the two countries, and no third country has the right to interfere in these relations.
Following the talks with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Hassan Rouhani emphasized good relations between the two countries in such areas as politics, culture and tourism, calling for the expansion of universal ties.
He also said that today at a meeting with Nikol Pashinyan, negotiations were held on the construction project of the Meghri hydroelectric station and the Khoda Afarin Dam. The Iranian president called for the revitalization of economic relations, in particular in the field of gas and electricity.
Pointing to the availability of fiber optic cable and data transfer between the two countries, Rouhani stated Tehran's readiness to export information and communication technologies (ICT) to Yerevan. He noted that both sides are in favor of creating an electricity corridor between Iran, Armenia, Georgia and Russia in a quadrilateral format. "Iran is ready to export gas to Armenia and to Georgia through Armenia," Rouhani added.
