ArmInfo.In 2018, Armenia reduced the export volume of copper ore by 13.2% per annum to 424.8 thousand tons.
According to the data of the RA Customs Service, the customs value of exported copper ore decreased by 10.4% over the reporting period, reaching $ 525.5 million.
Copper ore was exported to Bulgaria (47.3%), Switzerland (23.3%), China (18.5%), Romania (9.4%), Canada (1.1%), as well as to Great Britain and the Netherlands .A negative trend was also observed in the export of molybdenum concentrate, the volume of which decreased by 46.1% to 762.2 tons, with a decrease in the customs value by 23.8% to $ 7.6 million.
Export fell to Belgium (90.4%), Russia ( 9.6%), as well as the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.At the same time, Armenia reduced the import of molybdenum concentrate by 84.7% to 93 tons, with an increase in the customs value of 2.3 times to $ 1.3 million. The entire volume of imported molybdenum concentrate was re-exported to Iran.At the same time, exports of zinc concentrate increased by 22.4% to 12.5 thousand tons, with the entire volume falling to Belgium. During the reporting period, the customs value increased by 23.5% - to $ 20.5 million.In 2018, Armenia increased exports of ores containing precious metals by 43.3% to 3.1 thousand tons. In value terms, an increase of 63.5% to $ 3.3 million was also recorded. Moreover, almost the entire volume of exported raw materials (99.9%) fell, as in the previous year, to Switzerland.According to the RA Statistics Committee, in 2018 the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 1.4% per annum - to 11,110 tons. Copper concentrate production volume decreased by 25.9% to 317.4 thousand tons. The production of zinc concentrate during the reporting period, on the contrary, increased by 12.3% per annum - to 10,828 tons.
