ArmInfo.Electricity generation in Armenia in January 2019 amounted to 612.1 million kWh, with a y-o-y decline of 26.3%, against a growth of 7% a year earlier.
According to the RA Statistics Committee, in January 2019 by January 2018 TPPs have reduced the production of electricity by 61% - to 164.4 million kWh. At the same time, hydropower plants, on the contrary, increased electricity generation by 21.3% - to 154.6 million kWh and Armenian NPP - by 4% - up to 291.9 million kWh. During the reporting period, 3.7 thousand Gigajoules of heat were produced energy, with a y-o-y decline of 36.2%. Wind and solar stations produced 0.3 million kWh of electricity, with a y-o-y increase of 2 fold and 3 fold, respectively.
To note, in 2018 electricity generation in Armenia amounted to 7,776.9 million kWh, with an y-o-y growth of 0.2%. TPPs increased electricity generation by 17.5%, hydropower plants - by 2.2%, Armenian NPP - by 10%. Wind power plants reduced electricity generation by 9.5%, solar power stations, on the contrary, increased 12.8 fold.
