ArmInfo.Armenian President Armen Sargsyan received a delegation led by World Bank (WB) Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.Noting that Armenia and the World Bank have a rich history of partnerships, the Vice-President of the World Bank recalled the meeting with the President of Armenia, which took place in 1996. At that time, as Muller pointed out, he presented the first document on the strategic directions of development of the Armenian economy at that time to Prime Minister Armen Sargsyan.
The President of the Republic, in turn, noted the importance of cooperation with the World Bank in various areas. He expressed the hope that the cooperation will continue to be successfully continued.The interlocutors touched upon the current programs, as well as the strategic document entitled "Framework for the country's cooperation" for the future 4th anniversary.As noted by the interlocutors, today there is a huge potential for cooperation in the areas of high technology, education, tourism, agriculture, as well as the prospects for joint programs.Armenia, is a member of the World Bank since 1992. In total, the World Bank has provided Armenia with funds in the form of loans and grants of about $ 2.3 billion.
