ArmInfo. Wages in the state system must be adequate. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this on March 19 at a press conference, referring to the resonant premiums in the RA State Revenue Committee (SRC).
According to the head of government, in a sense, he is pleased with the scandal associated with the issuance of pre-New Year premiums in the state structure. As the prime minister pointed out, many began to argue over the validity of these payments, over how many citizens these funds could be directed and the social tasks of how many poor families could be solved with these resources.
"Meanwhile, no one thought that an employee of the SRC should receive the appropriate bonuses so that it could provide tax revenues to the state treasury, thanks to which the pensioner will receive a pension, and socially vulnerable citizens will receive benefits," he said.
According to the head of government, the wages in the state system should be adequate, since an employee with a low salary cannot provide services of good quality to society.
To note, by the end of the year large premiums issued in state structures caused a public outcry: people complained that against the background of low salaries in the republic, state officials themselves issued large bonuses, and this taking into account that many of them worked for only a few months and did not have time to show the result. In the meantime, there is a legislative imperative, requiring that the issue of premums adhere to a 6-month period.
The largest premiums were given to the SRC and the Ministry of Finance, they reached from 2 to 9 million drams. It is noteworthy that among the winners were the press secretaries, secretaries, and assistants. In this connection, closed discussions took place in the faction of the ruling bloc My Step. For an explanation of the sensational awards, the heads of the SRC and the Ministry of Finance of Armenia were invited to the parliament, who assured that the premiums paid were strictly within the law.
"We have fixed problems, and this year the SRC bonus fund will be reduced by half. In general, all government agencies will receive a premium fund of 30%," said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after discussion.
