ArmInfo. There are no corresponding infrastructures for the implementation of large investment projects in the Armenian communities.
The Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan stated this on March 20 during a press conference. In this vein, he said that according to the results of the business forum held in the Lori region, it is planned to implement a major investment program, the launch of which is being delayed due to the presence of problems.
<The place has not yet been determined, since the implementation of the project provides for an area of 30- 40 hectares, which should be located near the highway, should not have problems with water supply, electricity, gasification. But, unfortunately, in Armenia there are still serious problems related to the underdevelopment of infrastructures, "the minister said. In continuation of the above, he noted that the government is of the opinion that in order to implement such programs, the Armenian side should be ready to provide the necessary conditions for the investor, regardless of the level of cost, since the launch of large projects will provide hundreds, thousands of jobs.
Nevertheless, Papikyan said that over 50 investment projects in various sectors of the economy, particularly in the sphere of tourism, agriculture, industry, production, etc. were presented at the business forum in Lori region. According to the minister, investors took part in the forum from around the world, including representatives of the Diaspora. In this vein, Papikyan said that according to the results of the event, the Chinese company in s. Katnakhpyur of the enlarged community Stepanavan plans to invest $ 5 million to create a water production plant.According to the minister, holding such business forums will be long lasting in Armenia: "I more than hope that we will be able to register similar results, which were recorded in Lori marz, as a result of business forums in other regions of Armenia".
In this context, he noted that the next forum was to be held in Syunik. The regional administration, according to the head of the department, planned to hold an event in the territory adjacent to the Tatevsky monastery, but the climatic conditions - the predicted cooling - prevented this, since the forum is held in a tent format. Thus, the event in Syunik was postponed to May, and in the near future the forum will be held in Ararat and Armavir regions. In conclusion, Papikyan stressed: "The background that exists today in Armenia from the point of view of investment interest, in particular, the number of people willing to invest in the country's economy, says that 2019 will be the key and most important stage of the economic revolution that we announced" .
