This was stated by Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan on March 21 at the meeting of the standing parliamentary commission on European integration of Armenia.He noted that the presence of monopolies and corruption to a certain extent reduces the level of investment in any country.
"We have to attach everythingefforts to completely eradicate corruption in the country, which will greatly contribute to economic development ", - the minister said.Khachatryan noted that the development of the business environment is also quite important for attracting investments. "For the last yearArmenia has significantly improved its performance in this direction, however, we need to do a lot of work. Representatives of the EU noted that we have certain gaps that we intend to fix, "- he said.The minister said that recently in Armenia, in general, there has been some progress in the export of goods to the EU, in particular, there is a positive dynamic in the field of wine exports.He also said that in 2019, the EU will assist Armenia in expanding the Tumo innovative technology center, developing tourism and small and medium-sized businesses in the northern regions of the country. Moreover, as the minister said, the EU is considering the possibility of assisting in deepening tourism cooperation between Armenia and Georgia.
