ArmInfo. The dynamics of growth of economic activity in Armenia testifies to the success of the economic policy of the RA government. On March 27 at the meeting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia this confidence was expressed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, presenting a report on the process and results of the implementation of the 2018 government program.
According to the prime minister, the results of the first three months of the current year speak about great and serious successes. So, in January, economic activity in the country amounted to 5.5%, and in February - 7.6%. In the first two months, the growth rate of the country's GDP was at the level of 6.5%. Meanwhile, in September last year, the republic was on the verge of recession, when economic activity in the country approached zero and even negative. "It was then that opinions began to heard about the inability of the new authorities to govern the state, but it was then that we announced the start of our reforms, which, I am sure, will lead to success," the head of government stressed. He also recalled the negative phenomena in the country's economy last year, which was associated with constant electoral processes.
"There was a non-violent velvet revolution, the prime minister was elected five times, once the president, once the Council of Elders of Yerevan, the parliament dissolved and new parliamentary elections were held. Against this background, the results obtained by the end of the year are natural. There is no state in the world that, when faced with such phenomena, did not experience shocks. But the trends and dynamics of the current year will lead to serious positive results, "stated Nikol Pashinyan, adding that at present the republic and moved to the stage of the long-term development, which is already affecting the country's economy. The Prime Minister, for example, pointed out interesting processes in the field of urban planning, in which in January-February of this year recorded more than 20% growth (22.1% and 21%, respectively).
