In the framework of the plenary meeting of the spring session of the IMF / WB and the annual meeting of 2019 of the Governing Boards of the IMF and the WB Group, a number of meetings were held. The Central Bank's press service told ArmInfo that Central Bank Chairman Artur Javadyan met with IMF Deputy Managing Director Tao Zhang, IMF Regional Director for the Middle East and Central Asia Jihad Azour, IMF Dutch Sub-Group Executive Director Anthony De Lannoy.
The Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia highly appreciated the cooperation with the World Bank and the IMF, noting their significant role in the development of the Armenian economy through the support of the public and private sectors, and stressing the assistance provided by the IMF and the World Bank in reforming the country's financial sector.
A. Javadyan presented the interlocutors with the current state of the financial system of Armenia, initiatives and programs of the Central Bank. The interlocutors exchanged views on new prospects for cooperation and noted that there is great potential for cooperation between Armenia and the IMF and the World Bank. The Chairman of the CBA participated in a number of working discussions with representatives of partner organizations. To recall, IMF and WB Dutch Sub-Group includes 15 countries: Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine, Montenegro.
