ArmInfo. The State Control Service (SCS) completed inspections at two water user farmers companies in Armavir and Echmiadzin, where it revealed violations of more than 1 billion drams. This was announced on April 18 in a conversation with journalists by the head of the department David Sanasaryan.
According to him, the water mafia has operated in Armenia for many years. In particular, irrigated lands were discovered that were not recorded anywhere. There have also been cases of artificially reducing receivables for water bills. In general, according to the revealed violations for 2014-2018, companies are obliged to repair the damage caused to the state - an amount of more than 2 billion drams.
Earlier, the SCS reported major abuses at the Artashat water farm. This, in particular, is about illegal irrigation of vineyards and greenhouses in the Mkhchian village for 15 years, which belong to former Armenian Premier Hovik Abrahamyan and his family.
