ArmInfo.The metallurgical industry of Armenia in the first quarter of 2019 to the same period of 2018 reduced production by 15.4%, against a decline of 13.9% a year earlier. According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in the reporting period, ferromolybdenum production in Armenia decreased by 0.4% compared to the same period of the previous year (against a decrease of 8.5% a year earlier), making 1,702 tons. In March alone 661 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced, which is 19.1% more than the February volume.
Production of aluminum foil in Q1 of 2019 compared with the same period of the previous year decreased by 15.1% - to 7,606 tons, against 22.7% growth a year earlier. At the same time, in March the volume of aluminum foil production increased by 11.2% to 2,891 tons.
Production of steel pipes in Q1 of 2019 compared with the same period of 2018 decreased by 23.5% - to 1 939 tons, against a growth of 25.2% a year earlier, and in March alone there was a decline of 24.1% to 540 tons.
Copper concentrate production decreased by 16.5% per annum - to 68.8 thousand tons, against a decline of 19.7% a year earlier. In monthly terms, copper concentrate production increased by 30.9% to 25.4 thousand tons. Zinc concentrate production decreased in the Q1 of 2019 by 7.9% per annum - to 2,564 tons, against 28.3% growth a year earlier. In March the volume of zinc concentrate production increased by 23.2% to 1,013 tons. Growth was recorded in the production of molybdenum concentrate in Q 1 of 2019 to the same period of 2018 by 8.8% - to 3,042 tons, against a decline of 1% a year earlier. In March alone, production increased by 50.3%- up to 1,333 tons. Data on the production of rolled aluminum, converter (rough) copper in the statistics of the first quarter of this year are missing. All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA. To recall, the metallurgical industry of Armenia for 2018 reduced production by 23% per annum, against 11.3% growth in 2017. In particular, the production of ferromolybdenum increased by 10.4%, molybdenum concentrate - by 1.4%, copper concentrate - by 25.9%. At the same time, the production of aluminum foil decreased by 14.5%, aluminum rolled products - by 69.8%, steel pipes - by 3.5%. Zinc concentrate production increased by 12.3%. At the same time, the production of converter (rough) copper decreased in 2018 by 26.7%.
