ArmInfo. The annual turnover of Armenian companies engaged in software and high technology over the last year increased by almost 30% and amounted to about $ 730 million, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference marking the year of his stay at the helm of the country.
According to him, today there are about 800 IT companies operating in the country, which is 23% more than a year ago, and they employ 19.5 thousand people. The number of specialists also increased over the year by 27%.
The prime minister stressed that the state continues the policy of granting privileges to this country's priority economic sphere. He said that the number of newly established IT companies receiving tax benefits increased significantly over the year. The companies engaged in the production of electronic systems and computer animation are also connected to the category of "beneficiaries". The state recently allocated $ 10.5 million for the implementation of the construction project of an "engineering city".
