On May 13 in Yerevan at the conference "The Caspian Sea - a Sea of Opportunities", initiated by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Armenia and dedicated to the First Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held on August 12, the Avaza National Tourist Zone, said Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammetgeldi Ayazov.
He stated that the implementation of the preparations for the upcoming forum is proceeding in accordance with the concept approved by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The diplomat recalled that the first in history a similar forum within the largest region of the world, which is the Caspian basin, was initiated by the President of Turkmenistan during the IV Summit of the Heads of the Caspian littoral states, held on September 30, 2014 in Astrakhan (Russian Federation). "This initiative is based on the principled vision of Turkmenistan of the strategic importance of the Caspian Sea in regional and interregional geopolitical and geo-economic processes, its role as an important transit-transport and logistics hub, necessitating further joint efforts of the Caspian states," the ambassador said.
According to him, the initiative of the leader of Turkmenistan received a qualitatively new content, and in his speech at the V Summit of the Heads of the Caspian states on August 12, 2018 in Kazakhstan, it was stressed that the interaction in the Caspian Sea largely depends on the degree of our countries' involvement in trade and economic and transport processes. "The leader of Turkmenistan expressed his conviction that the holding of the First Caspian Economic Forum in 2019 would confirm the readiness of all Caspian states to consolidate efforts in this direction. And in this regard, support for the idea of the President of Turkmenistan to host the next summit of Caspian states and our first forum practical reflection of the high confidence of all neighboring countries. At the same time, this decision places deep responsibility for coordinated actions in the region of Eurasia, the significance of which goes far beyond the geographical limits, in the conditions of its transformation into one of the key centers of geopolitical and geo-economic processes, "said the ambassador.
According to the Turkmen diplomat, the upcoming forum in August of this year in Avaza is one of the most significant strategic events in the recent history of relations between the Caspian countries, due to the functioning of such an important legal document, which is the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea. He recalled that this most important document is the result of many years of negotiation processes between the countries of the Caspian Sea and is intended to open up new opportunities for the implementation of new investment projects in the Caspian Sea. "According to the conceptual vision of the organizers, the agenda of the First Caspian Economic Forum will cover a wide range of issues that will later form the basis for promising areas of interaction among the participating states. It is assumed that topical issues regarding the intensification of trade and economic issues will be offered for consideration for exchange of views and constructive discussion. relations, including the creation of conditions for the development and implementation of large-scale projects. The holding of the International Exhibition of Innovative Technologies of the Caspian States on August 11-12, 2019, which is designed to become a center for establishing business contacts and familiarizing with new technologies, services and solutions in various areas of the economy, including the fuel and energy sector, transport and logistics, industry, trade , tourism and many other areas ", - said Ayazov.
At the same time, he expressed the conviction that the forum would allow exchanging views on the implementation of agreements between the countries of the Caspian littoral states on trade and economic cooperation.
