ArmInfo.Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan discussed the prospects of investment programs in Armenia with representatives of a number of Chinese companies on May 16 in Beijing with representatives of a number of Chinese companies. As reported by the press service of the RA government, the meeting, held on May 16, was attended by the heads of Chinese companies Ganergy Heavy Industry Group, Hajer, MZTL and the company Zhenyi in the Xinjiang province.
During the meeting, according to the source, Nikol Pashinyan expressed satisfaction with the results of the working visit to China. He noted that in the near future it is necessary to discuss those steps that will contribute to the revitalization of bilateral economic relations. "I am glad to discuss with you your interests and proposals. Today, serious changes are taking place in Armenia: systemic corruption, economic monopolies have been eliminated in our country. Our steps are aimed at creating equal conditions for business and increasing the attractiveness of the business environment," the premier said, adding taking into account the high-level political dialogue with China, favorable conditions have been created for attracting Chinese investment in Armenia. Representatives of Ganergy Heavy Industry Group presented the type of activity of their company, adding that they are interested in carrying out activities in Armenia in such areas as industry, as well as finance and investment. Representatives of the "Zhen Yi" company stressed that they are ready to import Armenian brandy, wine, agricultural products in China, as well as invest in the creation of an industrial zone in Armenia. The head of the MZTL company declared the company's readiness to establish an elevator production in Armenia. In this regard, the company intends to export to RA a small batch of elevators to assess their effectiveness. Prime Minister Pashinyan invited the representatives of these companies to discuss with Armenian government officials the next steps in cooperation, including the prospects for the participation of Chinese companies in the free economic zone in Meghri. The head of government stressed that the government of Armenia considers the construction of the North-South highway as a communication and transport corridor and is pleased that the government of the People's Republic of China is also interested in cooperation with this program. At the end of his visit to China, Prime Minister Pashinyan also gave an interview to the leading Chinese news agency Xinhua and CCTV. Before returning to Yerevan, Nikol Pashinyan also visited the Armenian Embassy in the People's Republic of China. The working visit of the Prime Minister to the People's Republic of China is over.
