ArmInfo. Bad roads hamper Development of inbound tourism in Armenia This was announced at a press conference by an expert on tourism, director of travel company Karen Andreasyan, commenting on the low attendance rate among Georgian tourists to Armenia.
According to him, because of bad roads, in particular, on the tracks of Goris, Alaverdi tourists refuse to travel to Armenia.
Speaking about the departure of tourism from Armenia to Georgia, the Armenian expert assured that thanks to modern infrastructure and high-quality roads, the lion's share of Armenians prefer holidays on the Black Sea coast, particularly in Kobuleti, Sarpi, noting that these areas are filled with Armenians.
"As for the cognitive part, the Armenians are of great interest to Tbilisi. This trend has emerged after 2008. This is due to the fact that roads were reconstructed in Georgia. In this regard, Georgia is ahead of Armenia, so the Armenian tourist more often visits Georgia than the other way around, "the director of concluded.
In addition, Andreasyan considers Georgia an attractive country in terms of gastronomic tourism. Tourists are also attracted by the presence of high-class hotels, all kinds of spectacular shows, marketing, which, in his opinion, is also at a high level. "It is comfortable for Armenians to travel to Georgia, besides customs authorities work very well in Georgia," said Andreasyan. However, according to expert forecasts, the interest of Armenian tourists to Georgia will fall over time, as the Armenians will give preference to Egypt. Andreasyan believes that the recent political processes in Armenia had a positive impact on the development of tourism. When asked by a journalist about the level at which the sex industry is in Armenia, in particular against the background of the rise in sex tourism in Azerbaijan, Andreasyan explained that there is no "quality product" in Armenia in Russia and Ukraine. According to him, the sex industry of Armenia mainly serves tourists arriving from Iran.
