ArmInfo. On the initiative of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia on May 16 at the National Museum-Institute of Architecture. A. Tamanyan, the regular discussions of the roadmap of the EU grant program within the framework of CEPA, which will be implemented in the three northern regions of Armenia - Lori, Tavush and Shirak, took place.
This time, the following components were discussed: the development of the agricultural sector, rural areas, and the management of municipal solid waste. Both representatives of the public sector and public organizations took part in the discussions. According to Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia Vache Terteryan, the first component envisages administrative and territorial reforms to develop the infrastructures of the enlarged communities, the formation of new abilities and skills in the villages, which will contribute to improving the sustainability of the environment and the economic development of a particular region.
According to the deputy minister, the second component considers the possibilities of designing and building a landfill site that meets European standards for sorting, recycling, and recycling solid household waste.
Answering the question of ArmInfo V.Terterian noted that in Armenia the next grant program of the EU will be implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and its total cost is estimated at almost 32 million euros. The program is being implemented in three areas: the development of tourism, the SME sector and modern agriculture, with the introduction of innovative technologies. The start of the program, which will be long lasting, is scheduled for 2020.
