ArmInfo.The revenue part of the state budget of Armenia in 2019 will additionally supplement with at least 62 billion drams. This was announced on May 22 at a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the participation of heads of government bodies.
As reported by the press service of the RA government, at the meeting the prime minister stressed that at present there is a need to discuss the issue of the directions of additional budget financing. "In fact, we have already decided on three issues. Of this amount, an additional 7 billion drams will be directed to the road construction program. We also agreed that the salaries of servicemen will increase from July, and 6.8 billion drams will be allocated for these purposes. We must also increase the salaries of teachers, to which 3.5 billion drams will be spent. We need to make a decision on the remaining funds. We are talking about 45 billion drams, around which we need to make the right decision on how to spend this money, "said the head of the government.
According to him, in the first quarter of this year, the growth rate of the Armenian economy was 7.1%. "I would like to emphasize that this indicator is not an indicator of economic activity, it is the result of the already recorded growth of the gross domestic product. This is a very encouraging indicator that can already be said about the start of the economic revolution. Why is this important? Opinions of economists, members of the political team, and many members of the government are reduced to the need to channel additional financial resources in those areas that will contribute to further economic growth. One of these areas is considered capital expenditure, contributing to economic growth. This is a very serious and sensitive issue on which we have to take the right decision on the basis of the discussions, because further growth rates of the economy will depend on this, "Nikol Pashinyan said.
In turn, the heads of state structures on the spheres presented proposals and projects relating to investment programs, around which an exchange of views took place.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed to discuss in addition all the proposals received in a short time, evaluating the effectiveness of the programs. According to the head of the executive body, the funds must be spent so that they provide an economic effect.
