ArmInfo. We successfully counteract the attacks that are directed against Armenia in the PABSEC. This was announced on May 23 at a press conference by head of the Armenian delegation to the PABSEC Babken Tunyan.
Regarding the extent to which Armenia manages to use the PABSEC platform for economic development, Tunyan noted that the question is whether this platform is generally suitable for economic projects. He noted that at the heart of economic issues lies politics, and most of the countries within this structure have contradictions among themselves. "I want to note that I have no particular expectations. I think there will be more benefits from the development of bilateral relations," the MP said. The head of the Armenian delegation to the PABSEC noted that the next meeting of the Assembly will be held in September, the theme of the meeting will be the development of transport infrastructures. "This topic directly concerns us. But let's take a specific topic - creating an alternative to Upper Lars. For this, at least three parties need to get consent, and this is very difficult. It turns out that the PABSEC platform is necessary for communication. Do not underestimate or overestimate it", stressed Tunyan. In turn, member of the delegation, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Vahe Enfiajyan noted that against Armenia in the PABSEC periodically carried out attacks against Armenia, in which all participate, delegations except Russia. "We oppose these attacks, but they are trying to create inconvenience for our delegation, however, these attempts will not succeed," said Enfiajyan. To the clarifying question of whether this means that delegations had worked poorly before, or did not work at all, the MP answered that delegations had worked smoothly and very productively before. Meanwhile, Enfiajyan noted that the internal agenda of the structure has changed, most delegations have problems with neighboring countries, and the position on the problems is very tough. "For example, if we are talking about Artsakh, everyone knows that our position remains unchanged," the Vice-Speaker assured.
