ArmInfo.Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan chaired a meeting of the ministry's committee on the evaluation of program requests for subventions.
During the meeting, 46 program requests for attracting subventions, the total value of which is 1.9 billion drams, were approved. Of this amount, 1 billion drams is co-financing from the state budget.
During the meeting, issues related to the provision of co-financing of still unfinished programs were discussed.
To note, the total amount of the subvention programs planned for 2019 is 10 billion drams. Communities submit applications indicating the amount of funding, and if approved, the government doubles this amount, providing additional funding in the form of subventions. Earlier, RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Suren Papikyan reported that in March 2019 512 applications were received for the provision of subventions in the amount of 22.6 billion drams. According to him, some of the applications will be rejected, however, the total amount is significant, which, according to him, is an unprecedented indicator. Papikyan called important the fact that this year the communities showed a high interest in subventions. "In the history of the third republic, there was no precedent for communities to work at 10 billion drams. This is a significant achievement, especially given the importance of increasing the independence of communities and the greatest decentralization," he said. As the minister noted, within the framework of subventions for 2018, the government allocated about 1 billion drams for infrastructure development. "As part of the subventions, 51 asphalting programs are being implemented and planned, 13 for drinking water supply, three for the construction of a sewage system, seven for providing water for irrigation. There were coverage in 24 settlements, eight programs for the purchase of equipment were implemented, 14 - on beautification in communities of houses of culture and celebrations, 15 - on beautification of kindergartens and schools, 15 - on beautification of recreation areas, parks and courtyards, and one - on the arrangement of a landfill, "he noted.
