During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on improving the productivity of road construction programs, proper control over construction, as well as the necessary legislative reforms in this direction. Earlier, on June 13, in a conversation with journalists, Minister of High-Tech Industry Hakob Arshakyan stated that construction work in the framework of Tranche 2 of the North-South Investment Corridor (in the Ashtarak-Talin section, about 42 km) was suspended due to a conflict with the Spanish builder by Corsan Corviam Construccion SA As for the construction work carried out by the Chinese company Sinohydro Corporation in the framework of Tranche - 3 (Talin-Lanjik, Lanjik-Gyumri, 46.2 km), they, although with some delay, are still going on. As Arshakian pointed out, at present the Armenian government is negotiating with the goal of attracting funds for the construction of the southern segment of the investment corridor.
Implementation of the second Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program 2 investment program The Asian Development Bank will provide Armenia with a loan of $ 112.960 million. The program is planned to be implemented until 2020, the first tranche is planned to modernize the roads from the intersection of Arshakunyats-Bagratunyats Yerevan streets to Noragavit, continuing towards Artashat highway and connecting to the North-South highway. The second tranche is planned, in particular, to extend the road from Noragavit to the intersection of Argavand-Shiraki streets, from there to Babajanyan's streets in Malatia Sebastia, up to Ashtarak highway, and the third direction - from Davidashen bridge to Ashtarak highway.
