ArmInfo. Two memorandums of understanding were signed on the fields of the annual forum-expo "Engineering Week in Yerevan", which takes place in Armenia from June 24 to 28, 2019.
According to a report received by ArmInfo, the first memorandum was signed between the UN Economic Commission for Africa and the Enterprise Incubator Foundation.
The second memorandum was signed between the French University of Armenia, the Enterprise Incubator Foundation and the Association of Engineers.
French Ambassador to RA Jonathan Lacote, participating in the event, noted that the FAA will now pay special attention to engineering education. According to him, this memorandum establishes concrete steps aimed at creating content, implementing joint projects. "It will also contribute to the establishment of direct contact of the students of the FAU with the manufacturing industry represented by companies located in the engineering city," concluded Lacote.
From June 24 to June 28, the Engineering Week takes place in Yerevan and Vanadzor, during which the "engineering city" program will be presented. "Engineering City" is a place that will act as a platform for joint activities of companies in the field. It will consist of shared areas, a courtyard, a museum and an engineering school.
Within the framework of this "city" in Armenia, research will be conducted for the first time in such areas as the development and testing of unmanned vehicle systems, the development of 5th generation wireless communication systems (5G), the development of the industrial Internet of things and others. It is also planned to search for ways of cooperation with other international companies. The event will be attended by such international companies as Nokia, ISB, Nvidia.
