ArmInfo.Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who is on a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with the Minister of Energy of Iran, Reza Ardakanian.
According to the press service of the RA government, being co-chairs of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission, Mher Grigoryan and Reza Ardakanian expressed confidence that the meeting of the commission, which will be held after the meeting, will be constructive. The parties touched upon a number of issues included in the agenda of the meeting and discussed the process of implementing joint energy programs and opportunities for developing cooperation. Mher Grigoryan and Reza Ardakanian stressed the importance of ratification by the parliaments of the two countries of an agreement on the creation of a free trade zone between Iran and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The Vice Premier noted that by making efforts it is possible to achieve maximum effect within the framework of this agreement, and Armenia, being the only country with a land border with Iran, will contribute to the development of relations both at the bilateral level and in the multilateral format.
