ArmInfo.Issues of improving water supply efficiency and reducing losses were the subject of discussions held on July 4 in Yerevan between Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan with Veolia Company Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe Malika Genduri.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia, during the meeting Suren Papikyan noted the importance of the company's activity in organizing water supply in Armenia. He also stressed the need for mutual interest in upgrading the water supply system under the trust management agreement.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed joint investment projects, indicators of work performed, tariff policy. They also raised the issue of upgrading the treatment plant at Aeration and the possibility of restarting it. Earlier, ArminInfo reported on the intentions of a French company to invest $ 81 million in the field of drinking water in Yerevan in 2018.
In addition, it was planned to complete a program to ensure uninterrupted water supply worth 3 billion drams in the Yerevan districts of Haghtanak and Silikyan. As part of the program, worth $ 81 million, it was planned to resolve the issue of water supply to a number of communities in the country that had hitherto remained outside the coverage area of water supply system operators (560 today, Ed. note).
