Inflation in the consumer market of Armenia in the first half of 2019 at 0.1% was accompanied by a revaluation of the dram against the dollar by 1.3%, while a year earlier in the same period there was a decrease in consumer prices by 0.6% with the strengthening of the dram against the dollar by 0,1%.
According to the Statistics Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in June 2019 compared with June 2018, inflation at 2.5% was accompanied by a revaluation of the dram against the dollar by 0.8%. In June alone, there was a revaluation of the dram against the dollar by 0.4% with a deflation of consumer prices of 1.9%. In June 2019, the average settlement rate was 478.5 AMD / $ 1, against 482.6 AMD/ $ 1 - in June 2018.
To note, in the retail currency market of Armenia, dram to dollar was formed by July 8, 2019 at the level of 476.8 AMD / $ 1 on average, against 484 AMD / $ 1 on December 28, 2018 and 482.8 AMD / $ 1 on July 9, 2018.
To recall, deflation in the consumer market of Armenia in the first half of 2018 at 0.6% was accompanied by a revaluation of the dram against the dollar by 0.1%, while a year earlier consumer prices increased by 1.2% with the strengthening of the dram against the dollar by 0.3 %. In June 2018 compared with June 2017, inflation at 0.9% was accompanied by a devaluation of the dram against the dollar by 0.2%. In June 2018 alone, with deflation of consumer prices at 1.6% dram revaluated against the dollar by 0.3%.
